Another suggestion would be to expand the rating system to 1-10 instead of 1-5. There is a large gap between a show being considered a 4 or a 5, which probably leads to overuse of "5", or settling for "4" because no show can really be a 5. With a more fine-grained scale, you might get more "accurate" ratings, rather than just averages of 4 and 5.
